The North Sulawesi Christmas Festival
The North Sulawesi Christmas Festival (NSCF) 2019 event starts on Saturday morning, December 14, 2019 through the Santa Fun Run 5K event. The runner-up event took the start of the Best Western Lagoon Hotel and Finish in the SulutGo Marina Plaza Parking Area. More than 300 enthusiastic runners became part of this grand moment.
Santa Run is meant as a place to share. Where we know with Santa is a figure who likes to give gifts, which of course the application in life so we can share the good things.
Because it is kindness that is the basis of harmony in North Sulawesi. Ethnic, Religion, Race, and Group diversity in North Sulawesi can blend well in Tolerance. This makes North Sulawesi Great, said Christian Montong representing the chairman of the general committee Rio Dondokambey.
The event began at 07.00 am, and was officially opened by the Deputy Chair of the Committee, Mr. Christian Montong, SH as well as releasing a group of participants who later headed to the Finish Line.
Although this is a running competition that requires participants to reach the Finish Line, the main assessment is the Creativity of Costumes worn, so it is not surprising that participants use the Santa Attribute when running.
Upon reaching the finish, the participants were immediately treated to fatigue relief entertainment through the Performance Band which made them excited again for Zumba gymnastics afterwards.
Not only that, Bank SulutGo as the sponsor of this activity provides door prizes for lucky participants, ranging from Mixers, Gas Stoves, Microwave, Television, to Smart Phones given in this activity.
The Santa Fun Run 5K activity also has a Balloon Release which is symbolic of the declaration of NSCF 2019. Present in the procession were the Daily Chairperson of NSCF 2019, Ms. Anni Dondokambey, Head of North Sulawesi Regional Tourism Office Mr. Henry Kaitjily, Deputy Chairperson of NSCF Mr. Christian Montong, and Deputy Chairperson NSCF Erlando Silangen.
The release of Balloons in this activity can be interpreted as Hope that is high to the sky. A hope for the success of the 2019 NSCF. A hope that Christmas peace will touch all levels of North Sulawesi society.
The Christmas tree was seen walking in the event area and attracting participants' attention to take a photo. He is the 2019 NSCF Christal Mascot.
Christal is an abbreviation of the Christmas Festival. Can also be interpreted as Christ and Christmas.
In the mention of crystals (objects) are often used as Christmas ornaments and also the shape of snow.
The crystal is also very identical to the lamp, matching the NSCF subthema, L.I.G.H.T.
The Santa Run 5K event closed with the announcement of the winner of the Contest.

The choice of the theme "Be Bright" in a clear way invites us to continue to emit light that can be interpreted as goodness. And deeper, this theme invites us to look for places that we need to light, because as the Light shines in a dark place, let us share the goodness in a dim or dark place.
Not moving far from the Theme, Sub Theme also took the LIGHT acronym. Each letter has its own meaning and hope.
