One way is to prepare a church building that is currently not visited by the congregation to be a place of isolation for patients with Covid-19.

"Churches can prepare their buildings which are currently empty and not used to be used as a place of isolation for those exposed to corona, when it is appropriate and necessary," PGI Secretary General Reverend Jacky Manuputty told a BNPB press conference on Sunday (12) / 4/2020). He said, all churches must be prepared to deal with the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Starting from the economic downturn, rising unemployment due to layoffs, and others.

On this Easter Day, he said, institutionally the churches must interpret the resurrection of Christ in this pandemic situation with the act of defending and caring for life.

"The church must be able to consolidate all of its resources, both institutions, services and people to foster attitudes and actions of solidarity in an effort to break the chain of the spread of the corona virus," he said.

The whole church must mobilize strong family-based deaconia to help the weak regardless of their backgrounds and differences.

Moreover, he said, the church already has a history of Christianity in the face of catastrophic epidemics as it is today by giving oneself fully and fully.

"Even if the churches have to suffer for defending life, this is the time for the call of suffering that must be lived with faith that is always directed to Christ who suffered, died and was resurrected," he concluded.
